The best time to use a fine-tip torch is on edges and corners to ensure they lay down and stay down. The high heat point activates the adhesive and allows the film to relax, giving it the opportunity to shrink and hold on for dear life.

Check the Spark Arm

The ignition spark arm may have shifted slightly during shipping or handling. If this happens, the torch will not ignite even though the igniter is functioning.

Using a small flat-head screwdriver or similar fine tool, gently move the spark arm back toward the center near the gas outlet. Be careful not to apply excessive force.

Verify the Butane Refill Nozzle

Our torches are shipped empty and require butane before use. There are several common butane nozzle sizes, and sometimes the refill canister nozzle does not properly engage the torch's fill valve.

If butane is spraying back out during filling rather than entering the torch, try one of the alternate nozzle adapters that typically come with the butane refill canister. You should be able to see the fuel level increase through the torch's fuel window.

Reset the Flame Adjustment Dial

Occasionally the flame adjustment dial at the base of the torch can be turned too far in either direction.

Try setting the adjustment dial to approximately the middle position and then test ignition. Once the torch is working properly, you can fine-tune the flame size as needed.

Purge Air From the Fuel Tank

Sometimes air becomes trapped in the fuel reservoir during refilling. The torch may spark but not ignite, or may ignite inconsistently. The fix is to depress the refill valve briefly (outdoors and away from ignition sources) to release trapped air, then refill with butane.

Allow the Torch to Warm to Room Temperature

Butane pressure drops significantly when cold. If the torch was stored in a garage, vehicle, or shipped during colder weather, it may not generate enough pressure to ignite.
Letting it sit indoors for 30 minutes often resolves this.

Verify Fuel Level

To stay consistent with shipping policies, we do not ship butane. Use a universal butane refill canister to fill your torch. It should only take 1-3 seconds to fill your torch. Visually confirm fuel through the inspection window.
